Four things to include when you report a step that looks wrong on Math Lantern

Found a step that looks wrong, or a calculator you wish existed? Use the feedback form at the bottom of this page and give the exact numbers you entered. Email [email protected] works too: the form is anonymous, while email lets the team answer you.

A report we can reproduce

  • The calculator page and the input, exactly as typed.
  • The step that seems wrong and what you expected instead.
  • The textbook rule or definition you checked it against.

Asking for a new calculator

A calculator is added when its method can be shown as clear steps. Choose “I need another calculator” and describe one example problem. How Math Lantern builds and checks a calculator explains what fits the site.

What the feedback form keeps

The form saves the time, whether you pressed helpful or needs improvement, the page address, the topic and any note up to 1,000 characters. It does not ask for a name or an email address and keeps no IP address with the note. The newest 300 notes are kept, and what you solved is never part of a note unless you type it in.

What the Math Lantern feedback form keeps and what it does not keep

Rights and removal

To have a note deleted or to raise a rights concern about a page, pick “Rights or removal request”, name the page and say what should change. Notes are anonymous, so a deletion is matched to the page and time you give.

Frequently asked questions

Do I get a reply?

No. The form stores no contact details, so notes cannot be answered one by one. A fix goes live on the page and its updated date moves.

Can you solve my assignment?

No. The calculators explain methods; the work stays yours. Ask your teacher or a tutor for help with assignments.

Is my email address stored?

Only if you write to us: the address is used to reply and the thread is deleted when the matter is closed. The form never asks for an email address. See the privacy policy.
