Your problems stay on your device

All calculations run in your browser. The numbers and expressions you enter are not sent to our server and are not stored.

Server logs

Our web server logs the IP address, time, page requested, browser string and status code. We use the logs to keep the site working and block abuse, and delete them after a short time.

Feedback

If you use the “helpful” or “needs work” buttons and send the form, we keep the time, your choice, the page, the topic and any note (up to 1,000 characters). Your IP address is not saved with it; a one-way hash is held for 20 seconds to slow spam. Please keep personal information out of the note. We retain the newest 300 entries and will delete yours if you email the page and approximate time.

Cookies, analytics and ads

Math Lantern sets no cookies, uses no analytics and shows no ads today. Before that changes we will update this page and request consent where the law requires.

Delivery network

Pages are served through a content-delivery and security provider that sees visitor IP addresses to route traffic and block attacks.

Students and children

Students of all ages use calculators like these. The site does not ask for names, ages or accounts and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Your rights

If the GDPR, UK GDPR or California privacy law applies to you, you may ask for access, correction or deletion of data we hold about you. Email [email protected].

Are my homework problems stored?

No. They exist only in the open tab.

Do you use tracking or ads?

No analytics or advertising trackers run today.

How can I delete feedback I sent?

Email the page and approximate time; we will remove it.
